Having started with nothing but a decaying station building in the year 2000, the progress we’ve achieved in the years since has been nothing short of astounding. We’re regularly commended for the quality of our restoration work, having won numerous awards including the National Railway Heritage Award Scheme and others.
We have big plans for the future, some of which we have already started, but now we need you! After emerging from the pandemic, we have found that we simply don’t have the numbers of volunteers we need to fully reopen to the public. As such, we’ve begun to actively recruit new volunteers who are able to keep the project thriving into the future.
As a small organization, we’re able to offer an incredibly welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Whether or not you have an interest in railways, ability or previous experience, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds currently aged 16 - 90, as well as a number of neuro-divergent volunteers, proudly supporting them to develop new skills and value their contribution to the project, we also provide supervision for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Please take a look at just some of the exciting opportunities we have to offer...
