Educational Visits

We are proud to offer educational visits to Kirkby Stephen East to school and other groups from around Cumbria.

Built in 1861, and today home to a wide range of artefacts from the Victorian and 20th century periods, Kirkby Stephen East is the ideal place for a visit.

We can work with groups to provide a wide range of tailored experiences and educational activities. These include building bridges, how steam locomotives work, railway construction and jobs at the station.

Our activities are tailored to focus on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) agenda of the UK Government.

Our facilities include a large covered platform, secure bag and introduction room, running railway line for train rides and a variety of historic rail vehicles. We can offer coach parking, also.

Visits to our site are completely free.

To discuss your requirements, please contact our Learning and Outreach Officer, Oliver Edwards, on lclt.learningoutreach@gmail.com.
