Easter 2024 sees the return of the Cumbria Easter Rally showcasing classic and vintage commercial vehicles across Brough, Kirkby Stephen and surrounding area.
SRC will be holding an Easter Craft and Food Fayre on Easter Saturday 30th March 10am - 4pm and will be open for visitors on Easter Sunday 31st March 10am - 4pm.
We will be operating a diesel train service on both days (charges apply) our museum, shop and buffet car will be open and tours of our workshop and maintenance facility will be available.
There will be displays of classic and vintage commercial vehicle on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st March including buses, lorries, tractors and much more across the local villages with free transport across the site. The Easter Rally buses will include a trip to the Fat Lamb Inn in the amazing Ravenstonedale Valley and a chance to visit Winton village's Bay Horse Inn and displays in the village hall. There are also new display sites in the Kirkby Stephen Business Park in addition to the exisiting sites at the Auction Mart and Mountain Rescue.
Parking on site is prioritorised for blue badge holders and there is a FREE park and ride scheme using VINTAGE BUSES between Brough Town Centre, Winton, Kirkby Stephen Town Centre, and the Mainline Railway Station on the Settle & Carlisle line.
Admission in FREE and there are free miniature traction engine rides on the platform.
Our 1930s buffet car will provide refreshments - hot drinks, toasties and gluten free soup.

Accessibility Statement: we have totally refurbished our toilets over the last three years but are yet to start work on our dedicated disabled toilet facilities. We apologise in advance for the lack of fully accessible toilet facilities but there is an access ramp to the building and it is all on one level. Blue badge parking is available and our marshalls will direct you. The buffet car is a 1930's coach which is not able to be adapted for disabled use but the staff can bring your order to a seating area on the station platform.
Many of our volunteers are dementia friends and we welcome neurodiverse people (if you have any particular questions about how we can help accomodate your individual needs please email accessibilty team
Dog Access: Barras the Station Cat will be in residence with his kittens Bowes and Barney. They welcome visitors but is wary of dogs and tends to lash out to them if they are on long leads. Well behaved dogs on short leashes can be accomodated and our volunteers will keep him calm. Please be aware this will be a busy event and nervous dogs may find it stressful. Assistance dogs are allowed to access the buffet car with their humans.
